Carers Support works in partnership with GP practices across Bristol and South Gloucestershire to help identify and support unpaid carers—especially those caring for someone living with dementia. We offer practical tools, training, and recognition to help surgeries become more carer-aware and carer-friendly.
Carers often visit GP surgeries more frequently than the people they care for, yet many remain unidentified. Early identification and support can significantly improve carers’ wellbeing and reduce pressure on health services. GP surgeries are uniquely placed to make a difference.
