Young Carers Awareness Training for Professionals

Our Young Carers Service is now delivering Young Carers Awareness Training for professionals through the Safeguarding Partnerships in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

The training supports professionals to better identify, understand and respond to the needs of children and young people who may be providing care within their family.

The sessions aim to help professionals:

• understand who young carers are
• recognise signs that a child or young person may be a young carer
• understand professional responsibilities and safeguarding duties
• know how and when to offer support or make a referral

Both full courses and short, bite-sized sessions are available, allowing professionals to choose training that fits their role and capacity.
