14th October 2026

Carers Support is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2026, giving supporters a unique opportunity to make twice the difference for local young carers.
For one week only, every donation made through our Big Give campaign will be doubled, helping us raise £30,000 for young carers across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
The campaign aims to generate £15,000 in public donations, which will unlock a further £15,000 in match funding.
Young carers spend part of their childhood helping to care for a parent, sibling or other family member affected by illness, disability, mental ill health, addiction or age-related frailty.
While many young carers show remarkable resilience, caring responsibilities can affect their education, wellbeing, confidence and opportunities to enjoy time with friends and participate in activities that many young people take for granted.
Through our Young Carers Service, we help children and young people build confidence, improve wellbeing, make friendships and access opportunities beyond their caring role. Funds raised through this year's campaign will help ensure more young carers can access this support when they need it most.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK's largest match-funding campaign. During the campaign week, every donation made through our Big Give page will be doubled at no extra cost to the donor.
That means:
Every pound will work twice as hard to support local young carers.
Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing stories from young carers, highlighting the difference your support can make and explaining how you can get involved.
Together, we can help young carers feel recognised, supported and able to reach their full potential.
Double Your Impact. Support a Young Carer This Christmas.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge launches in December. Look out for further updates and details of how to donate.
