We’re thrilled to announce that unpaid carers in Bristol will soon have more opportunities to take time for themselves, connect with others, and enjoy activities in a supportive, local environment.
Thanks to generous funding from Bristol Charities, Carers Support is launching three new monthly Carers Time Groups—safe, welcoming spaces where carers can take a break from their responsibilities, meet others who understand, and feel more connected to their communities.
The project will be managed in partnership with Bristol Charities, and we’re planning for long-term sustainability by training local volunteers to help coordinate each group and reach more carers in the surrounding areas.
These groups are all about you—your wellbeing, your need for connection, and your right to have time away from caring. Whether you're looking for a friendly chat, a new activity, or simply a moment to breathe, these sessions are designed to give unpaid carers space to recharge, feel supported, and be part of a community.
We know that caring can be isolating, emotionally demanding, and often overlooked. These groups are a chance for carers to prioritise their own wellbeing—something that’s too often pushed to the bottom of the list. By coming along, you’ll get a change of scenery, meet other carers, and feel part of something built just for and with you.
This is just the start—we’re excited to be working alongside Bristol Charities to develop even more support services for unpaid carers in the city.
