How One Trip for Carers Shows What’s Possible with Business Support – and How Carers Can Still Get On Board

30th July 2025

Our upcoming Walk and Talk day trip on Wednesday 20 August, delivered in partnership with Severnside Community Rail Partnership, is now fully booked—with a waiting list already open.

This one-day experience includes free train travel, an accessible group walk, and a complimentary lunch, giving carers a valuable opportunity to relax, connect with others, and enjoy a well-deserved break from their caring role.

This special outing departs from Temple Meads and Keynsham stations, and is designed to be fully inclusive, welcoming carers of all ages and fitness levels, including those using mobility aids.

While no further bookings can be taken for this particular trip, we're inviting carers to register their interest in future experiences by emailing walk@carersbsg.org.uk. Your interest helps show just how much these experiences matter—strengthening our case to Severnside and other partners to make more of them happen for even more carers.

“Partnerships like this are a fantastic example of how local businesses can make a real difference to unpaid carers’ lives,”

“Partnerships like this are a fantastic example of how local businesses can make a real difference to unpaid carers’ lives,” says Carmen Rodriguez, ‘Carers Support’s Walk and Talk  Project Manager. “We’re incredibly grateful to Severnside for helping make this trip happen.”
