New Edition of Carers News – Autumn 2025 Now Available
30th September 2025
We’re pleased to announce the release of the Autumn 2025 edition of Carers News, our seasonal magazine created for and with carers across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
This issue is packed with updates, resources, and real-life stories that reflect the challenges and triumphs of caring. Whether you’re looking for practical advice, emotional support, or simply want to stay connected with what’s happening in the carers community, there’s something here for you.
Highlights from this edition include:
- Carers Rights Day 2025 – Join us on Thursday 20 November for a day of connection, learning, and wellbeing. This year’s theme is Respite, and we’ll be exploring how carers can access the breaks they need and deserve.
- New Carers Breaks Directory – A user-friendly online tool to help you find the right kind of break, plus practical guides on replacement care and how to pay for breaks.
- Young Adult Carers Peer Support Group – A new initiative supporting carers aged 18–25 with tailored resources and opportunities to connect.
- Winter Support Guide – Tips and resources to help you stay warm, well, and connected during the colder months, including financial help, emergency planning, and wellbeing support.
- Real Stories – A powerful personal account from Kaz, a carer supporting someone with severe mental health challenges, offering insight into the emotional realities of caring.
- Updates on National Policy – What the Government’s new 10-Year Health Plan means for unpaid carers, and how it could shape future services.
- New Team Members – Meet the newest members of our Carers Support team, including staff supporting parent carers and young adult carers.
- Community Noticeboard – A round-up of local services, wellbeing courses, helplines, and support groups available to carers.
We’ve created this edition with input from carers, partners, and staff, and we hope it offers both reassurance and practical help. As always, we welcome your feedback and ideas for future issues.
