The Power of Music sessions run by the Chinese Community Wellbeing Society (CCWS) are specially designed monthly events for East and South East Asian (ESEA) individuals living with dementia and their carers. These culturally sensitive sessions use music as a therapeutic and engaging tool to promote wellbeing, memory recall, and social connection. Participants have the opportunity to listen to familiar songs, sing along, and share memories in a welcoming environment, helping to reduce isolation and strengthen the bond between carers and those they care for.
Held at the Vassall Centre in Fishponds, Bristol, the sessions provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for carers to relax, connect with peers, and gain practical advice while their loved ones enjoy the music activities. These sessions are not only a source of enjoyment but also support the mental and emotional health of both carers and care recipients.
CCWS encourages carers to register in advance as spaces are limited. For more information or to book a place, carers can call 0808 802 0012 or visit the CCWS events page
