Alive Activities runs Carers Allotment Sessions at their dementia-friendly allotment in Brentry, North Bristol on the third Wednesday of each month. These sessions are designed for anyone caring for someone with dementia, including those whose loved one has recently moved into a care home or passed away.
Carers can take part in gentle gardening and green craft activities, or simply enjoy a quiet moment outdoors with tea, cake, and good company. The space is fully accessible, with shelter and a compost loo available. The sessions are free and offer a chance for carers to share experiences, build peer support, and take a well-earned break.
Alive is a Bristol-based charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for older people and their carers. Through creative activities, dementia-friendly gardening, intergenerational projects, and care staff training, Alive helps reduce isolation and bring joy, meaning, and connection to later life.
